I realise the originals are 'custom' and therefore likely to be unavailable, but apart from making your own there are some possible alternatives which instead of running a metal strip under the bodywork or whatever could be replaced by a clip-on or similar with wiring. More work and not 'original' but at least an option to save a dead engine.

I suppose the other option is to get in touch with Tomy Japan?!? Smile

Thanks Nigel. I wonder how one would get in touch with Tomy Japan. I didn't even think about that but get it from the source seems logical to me. I will do a bit more research on this.
They do have an English website, but it is pretty limited, there is also a Japanese website (of course) which seems a bit more comprehensive, but unfortunately I've never gotten round to learning to read Japanese yet so... Big Grin

I reached out to customer service for Tomy. They unfortunately do not sell replacement parts and suggested eBay or craigslist as an alternative.

I reached out to about 6 companies to see if they have it or can make it. None seem to have them. One replied they could make it but it would be $2000 for tooling and $.80 for each part.

I think I will just look into using something else.
Sounds like a wise decision unless you win the lottery in the coming weeks Smile

I can only hope to hit the lottery, but it doesn't look promising. Big Grin

At any rate I did place an order for two dofferent types from "mouser" so we will see if either works. I will let you all know if they do.
You should have let me know what you wanted, its a UK based company I could probably have got them for negligible shipping and posted them over to you Smile

No worries. They must have multiple locations. The site I was on was a US site and shows them in Texas. Shipping was 6.99 which seems steep for such a small item though..
Well.... No dice!! I received the terminals today. One style is way to big. The other, would be almost perfect once i drilled a new whole for the brass rivet, but it is too short.

This seems to be a common part like the couplings and tires that you would think Tomy would have a replacement for. Maybe it is a matter of learning Japanese to search for them.. Big Grin
Small update. Still no luck in tracking these down, but I did try a tip from an eBay seller in the UK. I recently purchased some TnA engines from him and almost all of the terminals were in like new condition. I asked if he had a source for them and he said he just cleans them. Basically using distilled white vinegar applied for about 5 min, then rinse with distilled water. I am shocked at the results. Some of them are not even noticeable that they had corrosion. That said some have issues and some well, they were too far gone. I have gotten pretty good at setting the terminals in place with a new brass rivet so I usually will drill the old one and then clean and replace with a new rivet.

Not sure what to use to make them shine again for the ones that are in worse shape, but maybe just some polish?

Also side note.. There is a positive and a negative that are different widths for these. Positive is the narrow and negative is the wider one.
