My next project is a rake of 4 standard carriages, I'm going to fit LEDs to the roofs, they're intended for the first generation james I have, which has a hyperdash2 motor and has been defaced and needs a little detailing!

Although it's loud I love these engines, I just wish they had quieter drive units!
You can look at the motor, a lot of the time it's just too oily or dirty

So from my previous threads you'll see I did a trailing cartage for james that had x2 led carriage lights and X1 red rearward facing led, well since I made it we have had trouble with the button cell not being able to produce enough power to feed bothe the interior lights and the back light at the same time, so today I had a play,

I tore out the old double switch and button cell set up and fitted a voltage booster, a AAA battery and holder and rewired the carriage,

Now they both work together, although the carriage is heavier now,

So, defacing diesel is WIP and I've lost enthusiasm, so I've been gathering components for another project, I had a play today and it seemed to work,

So what we have here is a battery, speed controller and motor, spliced into the reciever on my RC car, I intend to slot the package into a Spencer (when he arrives through the post) the battery is a 7.4v lipo battery, and tbh from the tests today, the motor sounds like it's going to implode when it's on full chat - this thing is going to fly! and all be controlled from a standard radio controlled car controller, Unfortunatly I think I'm going going to have to link the loco, tender and a carriage to fit all the components inside, the biggest thing being the reciever (they do make micro receivers but I don't have any spare 2.4ghz controllers,
