Info: Twilight Express

Does anyone know if there was 2 or more versions of the Twilight Express released? Possibly one at an Expo or site location and maybe a catalog one? The reason I ask is that I have seen several with gray wheels and others with yellow.

This was a set from the 90's, and it is quite rare. Ucwepn owns one. Here's a video.

Say are those yours?
I AM NOT DEAD. Just inactive.
Yellow wheeled was the original it was standard catalog release from I wanna say 1990 or 1991 until 2002-2003.

The grey wheeled is yes an event/expo exclusive sold a few years back.

Many thanks Geris

Could the more recent, gray wheeled one, have something to do with the real Twilight Express retiring from service? Except for the wheel color they look exactly the same even down to both using a "C" battery.

it was released quite awhile before the retirement of the real life train. I am pretty sure the EF66 Blue Train was released at the same time. there are some other aesthetic differences, I believe the newer Twilight Express has less stickers and more actual print on the train.
Well that sure is music to my ears seeing as I am not a big fan of stickers and....I don't have to swap out the yellow wheels....Sold! Big Grin
