thought we could share our favourite finds, whether they were unexpected, cheaper than normal, rescued from the trash or anything like that.

I have had too many "Best Finds" over the last few years, at least to me. Too many to list here, on the other hand I probably have just as many "Bad Finds" that I had no business being in on for the prices that was asked. Finds like me putting a ridiculously high bid to ensure I would get an item only to have another bidder also place a ridiculously high bid sticking me with an over priced item.
I will mention this one, actually two, Best Find though. Couple years ago I was doing my usual browsing of the Ebay sales when I noticed, in a large bulk listing of rolling stock, two blue coaches hidden in the back. The pictures had all the stock placed close to each other so it was hard to tell if they were customs or not but they looked mysteriously like the Amtrak coaches. I won that auction and was pleasantly surprised to find that they were indeed real but I had never seen or heard of them. The story continues as it wasn't a week later that I noticed in another large bulk listing from another seller hidden in the back what looked like an F unit just like the Amtrak but was in the matching blue color of the previously obtained blue coaches. Long story short the engine did match the coaches and I found out later that it was a hard to find, Tomica World, USA released set. I love the F Units. I have since aquired quite a few more.
My Plarail advance Type 165 commuter. Average price was 35.00 usd, but I paid 22.47, I don't know why it was .47...
