Well, I tried the FromJapan method to have them place the order. I am awaiting a quote now from them. I will post back on what happens.
Someone PLEASE let me know when one of these pops up again for less than 55 USD total. Sending this from my phone quick sfter hearing its a Toys R Us exclusive and preorders are sold out. Really upsetting after what I've been thru this week. (Phone didn't vibrate for a Pinsir on a highway, History test is practically a 3-page essay in one hour, and Web 2.0 only gets worse worh each project we're assigned)

Now, baring that the order is not cancelled or they tell me they cannot get the item, then it should be all set. The item was listed on the Toys R us site at 3699¥. The total a was around 4194¥ after the commission fee, but them I got a 10% discount (currently running on FomJapan, thanks Nigel!) so after that, the total was 3900¥. So now it is just waiting on the Charge 2 payment that includes the shipping. Will let you know more when I do.
Looking forward to hearing more about your process Ripley. I am curious as to why they aren't showing the price as 3994yen (with tax) as it is listed on the web page. So far, the way it looks is, you are getting the set from them for less than cost with no Fees or Commission, awesome, in a good way.

The From Japan shopping service is pretty good if you want something from a retailer rather than off an auction. I've used it to get various items from Amazon.co.jp that I'd missed on pre-order from hobbysearch and it often works out cheaper this way as you avoid HS's astronomical shipping charges. If you get from Amazon.co.jp themselves you also usually get free local shipping (Amazon Prime) as well
Happily collecting things all my life...
Don't know how long ago this was posted but it appears that Toys R Us has stopped taking pre-orders for this set scheduled to release this Friday.

I am hoping my "shopping services" order using FromJapan goes through, but I think I did it after the reservation closed. Maybe they have another way to source one? |
