So this one was not broken, but it came in the mail this week too. Thought I would share.

Here are the "broken ones". I say broken, because some simply had some corrosion on the battery terminals. While others had a bit more to do. My favorite though is the lost and found HIRO. This is the third one I have been able to purchase. This one was like another one o got a few weeks back where it had the wires cut. This one though had all 4 wires severed. I replaced them all with new wire as opposed to the duct tape job that was done prior. All good now. Also one I was getting ready to take apart and see what was up was the diesel. Good thing I stopped because it is the 2013 R/C diesel. I found a remote for $3.99 on eBay..

This was a combination of two lots but the HIRO was in a lot for $6.99 usd..
Enjoy.

Nice bunch of loco's there Mr Ripley, I love these sort of lots too, its amazing how many 'broken' loco's often only have a minor fault. I've got a bunch to remedy, but out of those over half have just minor faults like a missing connector or similar. Smile

Love the Hiro, not seen one of those before Smile
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin
Its fun playing with these "challenged" runners isn't it. Its fun because you learn so much from each successful or unsuccessful repair.

Yes indeed. Some times it is very frustrating and then you take a break and come back and it all makes sense. HIRO was quite challenging as he has 4 wires then with the flip face and multiple other parts it makes it interesting. Glad to breathe new life in him though.

Nothing like a broken lot to test your maintence skills, I know it's handy for when something goes wrong.
Proud owner of Tomy/Plarail trains. Cool

Donald and Douglas are the easiest to repair. I just simply swap the entire motor unit from working ones from Rusty, Sir Handle, Duke etc.
Great scores Ripley! I've been tinkering too, my latest video features 3 locos running in the background that were all repaired/rebuilt by me yesterday, they are all TOMY and it's great to bring them back to life and have them running like new Smile
