Ok, well i picked up the 'job lot' today, was a bit of a trip but well worth it I believe for what I got.
I should apologise this is quite a long post, but that's because there is so much, but there are some interesting bits and bobs too
I've only looked through the two boxes of loco's & rolling stock so far, none have been cleaned etc... yet, I was just looking to see how many work and how many are DOA.
These are the working ones, they are in varying condition, a couple missing push-rods, a few need a new traction tyre or two, some bodies are a little tired or needing new stickers, but most will be ok once cleaned. There are also a couple of duplicate loco's, but some of these are variants
Anyway no more delays the working loco's (21 of);
Continued post
These following ones are currently DOA, although the two with tenders I think may just be electrical connection issues as one for example has no wires between the tender and loco, the tank loco's I'm not sure about and may need new motors or something - or they may just get cannibalised to provide say push-rods for the running tank engines that need them (5 of);
Unexpectedly I also found a number of die-cast Thomas loco's in the boxes, these are shown below, I'm not sure the makers of these (need to get a magnifying glass as my eyes are not what they were) but a similar scale coach among them was ERTL;
Other highlights were a couple of 'trailer' cars for bullet trains including one of the Eurostar ones, unfortunately the rest of the trains have not turned up yet, but hey-ho still good stock for the 'spares' box
There was also a motorised truck and bus that are working fully along with two more buses that need a bit of 'fettling'
I've not bothered to photograph the rolling stock, but there is a good selection of trucks, tankers, carriages etc... some trucks with cargo's even, probably around 50 in total. However there were a few odd things in there which are below;
Still to be sorted through are another 7 (yes 7) curver boxes of goodies, 2 are full of buildings, 2 full of track (mostly std blue, some older dark blue), 1 of road track, 1 full of the yellow 'supports', 1 a mix of supports and blue track. Things I noticed when stacking them in the garage includes an airport, road crossing, bridge sides (red and green). When I finally get round to going through them I'll post any highlights here
Phew! Nigel
