welcome to the site!! looking forward to hearing about and seeing your progress on the outdoor layout. the trackmaster track should be fine outdoors. the only thing that comes to mind is a metal pin that holds the switch in a points set that will maybe rust over time, but thatd be easy enough to replace when the time comes.
