Hi Super and chrisjo the holding tab on the rear of the talking Thomas is now the speaker grille, no I didn't get a thought to measure the lengths but to my eyes they are very close if not identical. as for weight I would say perhaps the same as a TM1 Thomas non talking version, much heavier than a TM2 regular which is clear to see with the pulling of 5 trucks with no weight added
