I think they realized they were competing with themselves vs. the TOMIX line but also trying to get a feeling of how to make Plarail marketable and who their core consumers are. A lot of Japanese Plarail fans place the blame on the trains released. But I think the way they discontinued selling it was a disservice to the fans who were loyal to Advance.
