JR Pass is only for foreigners not living in Japan. It was a great way to entice people to travel to Japan and travel to far and away places as many times you want for the specific time frame you chose.

But if there are those on BPT who are planning to go to Japan or attend Plarail Expo or other locations, a JR Pass is definitely worth it.
