It is a prototypical example of the real thing (i.e. same number of cars as the real thing) hence the length of it. The model also seems to be a premium Kato model and the most expensive brand new one I've bought to date, but even then it is still comparable in price to a higher spec OO locomotive (i.e. just an engine) so is still great value to me.
