It actually doesn't have to be necessarily an intermediate car: it would be nice if they just make the same SuHaFu car but with couplings on both sides! This car is very nice, and very versatile (it has no JR logo on the body), so it can be used with lots of other trains (I plan to use it with Hank, for example!).
Two of them coupled together, with one facing the locomotive (or the little black wagon, like in your picture!!), would look great!
