THOMAS & FRIENDS - ALL ENGINES GO 1: Muddy Thomas | TrackMaster | Motorized
Although it promotes beautiful, noble and eternal ideas (friendship, the strength of joint efforts, etc.) on the one hand, the new TV series "Thomas & Friends: ALL ENGINES GO" brings unrest and discord among fans and, as some think, destroys the legacy of the Rev. Wilbert Vere Awdry, the author of the original "Railway Series", on the other. Some feel that the series should not have gone in that direction, because it undermines the basic ideas of the original on which it was created, and which it has now disavowed in such a rude way.
Many fans are very upset with the appearance of the new series, the change of concept, characters, animation and more, but no one can take away from them the original Awdry's stories or the many excellent episodes of the early seasons of the original TV series “Thomas & Friends”. It would be good, however, to understand "All Engines Go" only as a spin-off of the original series. Why not have both?
And yet, in all this hustle and bustle, it seems that very beautiful and interesting models and sets of Thomas & Friends trains are being created. The "All Engines Go" models from Fisher-Price are very vivid, full of detail, carefully crafted, shaped and painted. No stickers are used, and they don’t look cheap in any way. They are very good runners, too. In terms of build quality and looks, they probably surpass the previous Trackmaster 2 series, which in itself largely represents a considerable distortion of the characters from the Thomas & Friends series.
True, the new models are of different dimensions (they are as much as 7 centimetres high), so some will probably have to adjust their layouts with low bridges and tunnels. But the new models "Muddy Thomas" and "Party Percy" are very high quality and, despite their size (height), easily pass even the switches of small radii. And they are so cute and lovely!
