This one is going to be great as a space themed train; it looks like something from Star Trek!
The lights, are not real, true. There is just this switching-the-type-of-the-lights gimmick:

There is a little switch on the roof for that changing of lights. Maybe you can install real lights yourself using the existing switch for ON/OFF, so you can have lights even when the train is not moving?
