That's a lot of history to catch up on, but will certainly do that.

I've been looking at Vimeo as an alternative, but thank's for mentioning Dailymotion as well. I'm not sure what the practical implication of marking as 'kids content' are other than disabling comments and limiting cards and end screens, but need to read up on that.
