I live in “Dixie Alley”, which along with the US Central Plains, has the highest number of tornadoes in US. I also live 70 miles from the US central Gulf Coast, which means we get hurricanes too.
I’m going to refrain from telling the tl;dr story of dealing with Nationwide Insurance, who wrote me a new policy and dropped me a month later, right as we were going into prime tornado season a few years back.
But yeah, extreme weather + insurance + economically unfeasible home upgrades + local historic district regulations make for some fun times!
I digress....
Was this breach and flood related to the typhoon that hit Japan last week or was it just a structural failure? That’s a huge amount of rolling stock and rail infrastructure sitting under water. I imagine repairs are going to take quite a while.
