Holy Cow...the prices have gone way up since they discontinued the Chuggington line. I am not exactly sure but by the looks of the shape and how the battery enters from the bottom, my guess would be it is similar to the newer C-11, C-12 steamer which I think uses a Thomas type motor but you probably surmised the same.
