I will get things started with this recent arrival...
I have to admit that I wasn't much interested in buying one of these somewhat rare Virgin trains. You see, I thought they were cheap looking and that all the details were stickers. I thought the whole front and rear ends was one sticker including the windshields. I thought the sides, windows and logos were stickers too.
I found this one listed a price I just couldn't pass up. Much to my surprise, when I received the train, there is absolutely no stickers anywhere. It is all painted which made me happy. And the windshields are really a translucent, tinted plastic which I was very surprised and happy to see as a light mod would look great in this cab. I would have been more thrilled if they had added just a bit of detail like, cut out windows instead of paint and headlights & grille that were 3D molded into the body as painted ones are flat, just don't look right and added to my sense of cheapness. All in all its not bad and a good runner. Does anyone know if this train was a limited edition? Did it come in a set or by itself? Would like to know a bit more about these if anyone has info or a link.
