Thomas Modification ideas: assistance needed

I have nor t seen anone having good luck with spraytpanting wheels. The very nature of how they rum the sides of the rail to keep them on the track wears the paint away. Now I have to admit that I have never tried this as I when by the remarks of everyone I could fid that did try it.
