As I am in school and learning Japanese there are 3 different types of Japanese language. Hiragana(most popular and easiest to learn) Kanji(extended version of Hiragana with different characters and Katakana(based on the Chinese language of mandarin) although there are three different languages but they all sound the same, They are all based on the a e i o u vowles and they are all combined into one entire language that we all know as Japanese.
