Jet Powered Thomas

I was half expecting this to be about one of the "Thomas and the Jet Engine" Tomy/TrackMaster packs, but this is much more interesting. I do wonder how they were authorized to make the "Chattanooga Choo Choo" look like Thomas (even without the name, it still bears his likeness). Seeing them "behave" like real steam engines looks a bit odd, to say the least. There appear to be several themed variations of the car, this being one of them. The wheel detail is based on that of the Strasburg Railroad steam Thomas, with the valve gear and exposed cylinders, rather than the character himself.
