I agree!! I never had video games growing up...we had bikes, skates and sticks! We had to use our imaginations.
I have time limits on YouTube, the iPad apps and the Wii U. They get an hour after homework is done and at least an hour was spent outside! That being said the LEGO Duplo, Junior and CITY apps are great for giving my boys ideas on how to pretend. It helps a lot to give them an idea to start with and they take the story from there! My littles favorite Duplo right now is the car wash and gas station. He will spend hours taking the train through the 'warsh' as he says lol
