Yep they are different. The steam Thomas has a "closed" type connector with sort of "pegs" that connect into holes where as the TnA connector the wires are exposed and there are "holes" that connect to pegs.
The D10 I have in the box was not BNIB but did not come with track. I think Muddy has one or two BNIB D10's.
