This also effects shopping on Amazon where some new and/or common engines can be found at normal retail prices with free shipping. For example, there are a couple steam locos you want to add to your pike. Hey wait, there's that cool little tank engine, might as well get that too! But now there are those other two steam engines that look kinda cool, might as well add them to the cart and decide later which ones you actually plan to buy. But the price for five locomotives isn't too bad and there's free shipping, so might as well buy all of 'em, even though you were only shopping for two.
At least, that's a scenario I've heard about!
BTW, similar scenarios can occur when settle down with an adult beverage and a credit card close at hand! Or so I've heard!
Oh, forgot to mention that, in this theoretical scenario, you later remember that you didn't buy that C57 previously because it's a motorized tender "pusher" style engine!
