Muddy, far too kind.. "Xen Master" I do like the sound of that though. Big Grin

Yes, Muddy is correct, I know these pretty much in and out and have not found an issue I could not fix, "knocks on wood..."

These can be very finicky to fix and repair and even once they are fixed they can be somewhat delicate with the exposed wires and fragile middle coupling. Without going through them and having a look it would be very tough to tell exactly what is wrong with each one, it could be just a bad fuse (there is one between the battery in the tender/trailing car of each of them), to a blown speaker for the ones with no sound ( I was able to find a replacement at one point, may have to hunt down a listing if this is needed), to a bad component on the circuit chip.

As for replacement parts, they can be hard to find. I have some things from repairs I have done in the past, but the big items I cannot find easily are the battery terminals and then the middle connector. For the connector though I am in talks with a person in Texas that is trying to replicate them, as I have sent a few connectors to them in pieces to try and re-make.

I cannot recall if you are in the US, if so, or even if not, send me a PM if you are interested, I would be more than happy to take a look at them for you.

In general I would do the following:
- Start with the easiest one to fix (hard to tell here, but it may be Percy with the gear issue). This will boost confidence and help you move ahead with the other repairs.
- if you are comfortable with it, disassemble the rear tender/trailing car and look for corosion on the terminals underneath, blown fuse, or other wire issues.
- test with a spare battery pack that has some clips on it ( I use an old 2 x AA battery back with alligator clips on it) but connect to the two wires coming from the engine.

Those are a few steps, but as you have more questions, let me know. The circuit issues, and if you have to get to the point to replace anything in the actual activation mechanism, that can be a pain too.

Hope this is somewhat helpful. Smile
