Agreed.

The previous engines were big, slow, loud and powerful, just as they would be. Also, most sets were designed like actual railways and not obstacle courses. The new ones are like "cars on rails", with little to no attention to what makes the show and books what they are. They also appear in misleading sets, which could easily trick people who don't know about the show into thinking that's what it's like. It's as if the new TrackMaster is marketed to entirely different children to the ones that see the show, since it gives them such wrong ideas. If Mattel didn't own the whole franchise, a better company could've easily bought the rights and brought out a better incarnation than ever (even more so than TOMY's).
