How to get Plarail thomas trains in the uk

As Christmas is coming up my family was looking into ordering some plarail thomas trains, does anyone know the best way to order them to the uk? Many thanks in advance.

You can get a lot of the Japanese Thomas PlaRail off Amazon.co.uk as well as the normal (i.e. real world PlaRail like bullet trains). However as already mentioned they can take a couple of weeks to arrive.

One thing I would advise though is to order them either individually or from different sellers. The simple reason for this is customs duty. So long as the item is around £18 you will not get charged import/customs duty, go above it and you are likely to incur a charge.

These charges can mount up, you usually get a handling fee of between £5 & £12 depending on value of the package, import duty (not entirely sure of %age but probably at least 15% or more) and VAT. Add that altogether and you can end up with charges almost the cost you paid for the items in the first place.
