I'm a big fan of cars, but I've never had a Mercedes and I've never had a car newer than 2003!!!! I'm sort of hoping my diesel Renault Clio terminally fails so I can replace it, but it just keeps soldiering on, and on, and on! When do you get to pick it up? So exciting!
I've never had a German car full stop, in the past most were Fords or Vauxhalls (company cars), until my last couple which were a Peugeot, Rover and finally a Peugeot 406 HDi, the last one of my company cars which I ended up buying and have had ever since (16 years old now with nearly 200k miles on it lol).
I wasn't intending to buy a replacement, but the pug was in the shop for a service and while there I asked the owner what he thought of Jaguars (I work for one of the Tata companies who own Jaguar so can get a new one at a good discount). But he reckons they are not so good, depreciate very badly and after 3-4 years tend to have reliability issues.
Then as I was leaving he mentioned he had the Merc (they don't normally sell cars, just repair them) and asked if I'd like a look. Well I looked, went back a couple of days later and test drove it and was sold on it. I should be getting it in about 2 weeks time
Anyone want a Pug 406? One careful owner from new?
