geri: thanks. im just glad the sorters at the shop didnt put it in the trash pile. 
super, the engine is not motorised. its the same length as a mini, but not as tall. if you took the wheels off a mini, thats the height. the track is on an angle that isnt really obvious from looking at it. i put james at the top and he took off all the way down till he hit the escalator, which of course isnt going right now.
