The best youtube videos

I still don't understand what the infatuation with the "Like" on Facebook is. Do you get paid for them? For that matter I don't understand them on YouTube either. Is it for the people with low self esteem so they can think that somebody "Likes" them?

I don't know exactly how it works. Some say it's by how many likes you get, some say it's views, some say it's how long people watch the ads on your videos, some people say it's how long people watch your videos themselves, but many people have made a living off of YouTube through monetizing their videos. Although, many of them get abused by the broken YouTube community guidelines and safety algorithms that automatically flag certain videos, and the fact that big companies think they're so perfect.
