Yes Powerful Gordon is quite rare, and quite different from the standard early Plarail releases...He has a different face, is weighted differently, and has a different motor to accommodate heavier loads without a loss in speed.
The Tomy Bill and Ben have front cab windows whereas the Fisher Price versions do not, but the FP versions have painted whites to thier eyes, whereas the Tomys do not...The Brendam Bay font is noticeably larger on the FP version, and the mustard colored bodies and brown cab detailing aren't quite as dark or rich on the Tomy as they are on the FP's either, as for James, I am assuming you mean the last Fisher Price version with a detachable tender and new face VS. the old C cell attached tender version...that's a toss up!!
The attached version is kinda clunky and slow, but the detachable one seems kinda flimsy and weird when the tender is detached...James is James and I suppose either would suffice.
