i actually have some LED strips that i bought from walmart a few years ago. havent done anything with them yet, but must get on to it, as it would be cheaper than buying laser pegs. i do wonder about spreading the color through the windows though, given the strips are flat.
the lego light bricks are quite ineffective ive found. one color and a button that must be held down. i actually removed most of mine due to little fingers finding them and then constantly fiddling, risking damage to the buildings. not ideal when displaying outside near a lawn, lol.
i have seen the one brand of light brix, as you say quite expensive, but would work well i think.
i really must learn basic electronics. would love to be able to wire up small LEDs myself.
