The train is a Fastech 360s which is the experimental train before the E5 was built. The two ends are different and the colours are exactly the same as the E5 and have ears because the real train were testing air brakes.

If you look carefully at your disney purchases recently, you should notice that the shapes are exactly the same. I am guessing that they used the same moulds to make the new Disney trains.
