At first, we weren't too crazy about the EuroStar's look with those large gray panels on the sides but over time it started looking better. Took a long time before we purchased one and now it is one of our favorites and like you say a nice runner. It also looks like a good candidate for a light modification. 
The Kintetsu Premium Express is very cool looking for an Advance train, I like it.
