Flip Face James Track Piece

I think the blue button you talk of activates the boulder to drop . The face switching piece is under the tunnel and is a switch track with the raised pieces on both sides . These are optional as you can raise and lower with a switch underneath the piece of track .
Different pieces also activate the trucks in ech o cave , copper mine and other sets .
