Being pedantic Peter Sam was released twice in the wooden range with different shaped funnels . He was also released in 2 different variants in Trackmaster .

Now that you mention it Ucwepn, I remember us talking about that in another thread. Good point as I am only interested in the boxed trains by themselves. No sets unless the set is just like a three pack of trains or something like that but I am not sure Tomy made the three packs in the Thomas line.

Is the variants just a Trackmaster 1 and recently the Trackmaster 2 releases. Another good point to mention as I am only looking for the motorized trains.
Both Trackmaster one standard with a guards van the other covered in dust from the mines . There are lots of engines in the Trackmaster / Hit range where they did variants based on stories with appropriate wagons ie Skarloey and Puppet Show , Percy in UPUp and away , Thomas in Slippy Sodor etc . The engines are all slightly different with decals etc and in Thomas' case for slippy sodor a red funnel .
