oh that doyoshu dragon lol It drained the batteries in about 2 mins flat haha, anything faster than an ultra dash will need high mah rechargeables.

Hi all, I ordered 5 each 2xAA Battery packs and a power dash (about 4$free shipping). We will have some fun and see what happens!

If I get my act together and actually do it, I'll update. There's a high likelihood they just sit in a box forever Smile
$4 for a Power Dash motor and free shipping? I have not seen it that low before. Did you get it from Ebay?

Amazon, Slight Embellishment, $4.17. Free shipping from Japan. It will take a while but what the heck. It is new, and I checked the specs... Sounds like a great deal. If I like the results, I'll get a bunch to have on hand.

Anyone have positive experience with the POWER DASH ?

ALSO, does anyone know the specs on the motors that come with the trains standard? I looked around but couldn't find anything. I assume they vary, but...?

Thanks Kmott, thats a great price.
does anybody know if there are any retail places that might sell these motors? any suggestions? I ordered my one 'test' motor from Japan and I wouldnt mind just going and picking one up somewhere. Dont mind paying more, if I can get it now.
cheers,
Kevin
You might want to call the Hobby shops in your area, the ones that specialize in Remote Controlled cars and such.
that was my thought, thanks
Good luck in your search. I checked out all the ones in my area and most of them didn't carry them in stock (the Tamiya brand) but they would order them. Was cheaper for me to get them myself and faster too.
Got my power dash and installed it today! it about doubled the speed of the little guy. put it in a Thomas (I think we have 3 or 4) and then put the Thomas Paint body on him.
I think that I made an error and ordered the AA not AAA cases for making battery mods. It seems like, in general, that if the unit takes an AA or AAA battery, then swapping out the motor makes sense. If it takes the C battery then changing the battery from C to 2XAAA (or even 3XAAA) makes sense. Does anyone have any other thoughts/opinions?

Also, I was watching a you tube video where the guy showed a battery case that held 3 (i think) AAA batteries and the case was the same size/shape as a C Battery, that is, one could use this and just pop it in where the C goes and suddenly have 4.5 Volts.

Cheers!
