easter layout mock up

my club is having an open day at the end of march, likely the week before easter. this means my easter themed thomas finally gets a run!

every third weekend at work, i go right through [essentially 14 days in a row] and its likely i will be at work for this open day. to prevent small hands grabbing things, i am utilising 3 clear plarail/tomica tunnels along the front and two curved to furthur dissuade little ones.

the decorations are a bit poor at the moment... hopefully will find other easter themed things over the coming month. i borrowed a mccolls farm truck from percy and have it loaded with 2 lego friends rabbit sets. had to slightly modify it as the carrots were too tall for the tunnels

the curve tracks are from one of the pull back sets, while the pink and yellow straights are from hello kitty and winnie the pooh respectively.

Excellent idea with the clear tunnels Sunhuntin. Just love your Lego creation car.
thanks, super. Smile
im hoping one day they make clear curved tunnels, then i could almost completely enclose a train. would have to leave one section free at the back to turn on and off.

I am with ya on the curved clear tunnels and while they are at it, might as well make curved subway tunnels too. They do make a half clear domed tunnel with stop & go function which would be a perfect place for removing or adding a train to a tunnel system which I think what it was made for.
do they?! will have to check that out. would be ideal for an enclosed layout.

this idea of closing in the front will also be used at the clubs big show this year. i have a few of them, so will be able to make long straights, and can add more tracks behind them which will still be protected.

I will see if I can find a picture of one from the Japan Auctions

I actually had a set that came with a bulk purchase from Japan that I sold on ebay. My mistake as the half domed one didn't have the stop and go function but there was a completely domed one that would go next to it. Here is my pictures.
