LEGO OCTAN - The Petroleum company that LEGO kicked to the curb

In Japan, we know how JOT (Japan Oil Transportation) is a petroleum company often featured as freight for N Gauge and Plarail.  In fact, we have seen numerous petroleum companies featured in the toyline.

For LEGO, it was SHELL but then it became OCTAN (note, this is a fictitious company designed by Torben Skov) .  Primarily seen with its red and green colors, OCTAN would be featured as an evil company in the LEGO MOVIE and afterward, you would barely see OCTAN featured ever again.

Sure, there is a shift towards greener and electric IRL, but petroleum is still part of our livelihood.  They should still be featured on LEGO toys like they have done before.  And as for petroleum companies being evil, the same that can be said with electric companies, automobile companies, entertainment companies and more!

All we want is more LEGO OCTAN! OCTAN! OCTAN!























The last prominently shown appearance of OCTAN was in LEGO City Service Station 60257 (2020) and in 2024, it was featured as a sponsor for Icons of Play (40634) soccer match.

You sure? Well what if I tell you Octan is actually transitioning secretly?

Have a look at this 60383 set (Released 2023) and look closely at the batteries.



That's a familiar looking logo isn't it? The colors might look different, but the overall shape matches.

Hope Lego make a charging station soon (might be boring since it's essentially a parking lot with charging stands).
