Does anybody own a Hit Toy Mighty Mac?

36 Replies, 8171 Views

Long time fan/collector, late member.  I would love to know how many people actually own a Hit Toy Mighty Mac here. And may I please see a picture of the underside of his Coach.

Nobody ever puts Hit Toys Mighty Mac on a list of "hard to find trains" so I'd like to know how many members have one. I only own the train itself and have still been searching for a coach (or the whole set) actively for at least a year
I have several Mighty Macs but sadly no powered coach or non-powered either, sorry.

BTW: Welcome to BPT's Mitzaplik. 😃

Thank you for the welcome. How did you manage to have several Hit Toy Mighty Mac's with no coach? That's gotta be some story of good (or bad) luck.

I'm hoping someone could show to have one here so I can see one in the flesh, particularly the coach.

I think I have about four or five that I wanted for parts for a custom. I would watch the the listings on ebay and whenever I saw one for cheap and/or not working I would snatch it up and sell the coaches. He sometimes appeared in larger Lots that I would buy just for him and sell off what I didn't need. I hope a member here has his coaches and can post an image of under the chassis.

I' ve looked on eBay and I couldn't find one, and the two I have are two MRR ones

The only hit toy images that I can find are of the boxes
The magic of the GWR

Good point, given that it was only ever a 2008 USA-only Toys 'Я Us limited edition.

I've certainly never had one pass through my hands here in the UK, nor his motorized coach. Every one I've ever had has been marked Tomy / Gullane 2005.

Ive done a crazy amount of searches including generic "Trackmaster lot" searches and looked through every listing analyzing pictures it takes a long time. And even specific searches by name, if they list it at TOMY I'll still analyze it because sometimes people will label the manufacturer wrong and I still come up with nothing. It's no exaggeration that I've been doing this for more than a year. It's crazy cause I got me an alfie faster than what I thought was going to be an easier find in Mighty Mac.

As a matter of fact there's way more pictures of Alfie than Hit Mighty Mac and believe me I freaking looked through many corners of the net. Sorry I'm rambling like a fisher man talking about his allusive whale.

I've had only two times in more than a year that a seller would tell me upon inquiry that what I was looking at was a Hit Mighty Mac (it's hard to tell the difference with far away shots in lot listings). Then, when I offer to buy the whole lot just for this darn item as long as they send me proof, they tell me it's actually TOMY afterwards.
I'll tell ya though, those rushes of adrenaline when you think you finally found something are fun.

ooops...just checked my stash and I was wrong, I only have two Mighty Mac donor engines and they both are 2005 Tomy/Guilane. I was confusing him with the five donor Hank engines saved for future customs.
See that's why I feel like Hit Mighty should be considered hard to get... But I'll get him... Someday *yarrr*
