What is the rarest Tomy/Plarail/TrackMaster item you own?

Or maybe it can be the price of the products at that time multiplied by a certain factor after n amount of years have passed, considering the amount of past auctions.
@Zwilling In fact all the TOMY accounting records which can be used to determine actual product costs & distribution amounts to determine rarity are in paperwork before the 90s and I have provided them in our communications channel. Scroll all the way up the pinned posts and you will find it. Keep that in strictest confidence.

I don't know Vio, different bidders have different ways of considering the rarity and putting their money in. Yes, cost is a determining factor of rarity. In my opinion and your opinion since your first post, we are only considering the mere existence of the products so I think we are best sticking to that. Smart idea about using the distribution amounts.

I also have data for past auctions, that is a public database so it is OK to share anything if you want. Some of the auctions might not be recorded, but most of the major auctions are kept. Not the most reliable source to determine rarity because the titles and contents might contain 2 or more items, but you can make somewhat wise decisions.

I found it online. Some listings are duplicate so you are right about not being the most reliable source...

It looks like Plakids got into the most expensive range. What?!

Yeah I remember that auction. 2 words: Umekoji 2003. You now know why.  Tongue

NO WAY!!! Those Plakids are way too rare even if it was a junk item! Are all 20 of them junk Plakids?

All of them had the original card that came with them. I can't remember if they are junk, but all of them looked new.
So lets add 2003 Umekoji Plakids as one of the rarest, totally forgot.

Lets talk about the newer Plarail:
1996: 金ぴか2スピードのぞみQUANTO,
1998: 金ピカあさぎり, 金ピカニューロマンスカー
2003: Umekoji Plakids, 走れ!プラレールはやて!特別限定版クリア仕様セット, East Eye Clear Middle Car Cover, and USA version of 寝台特急 with the sticker logo. I don't know whether Clear C-62 stands a chance against them.

QUANTO and めばえ are alike but different logos, yup those ones are exceptionally rare.
Both 1998 Plarails are in auctions before, it was the highest price among all gold Plarails of that type and they never came back after 1 or 2 years now.
Not even Clear C-62 stands a chance against Umekoji Plakids, although it might rival the East Eye Clear Middle Car Cover with the original packaging. Clear Hayate never appeared for the last decade but there was one with the box from a old toy shop, only 2 in existence so far. Stickered USA 寝台特急 is known as the hidden 4th type of the Californian Plarail and only 1 person in the world has it, 茶さん.

Just wondering about the single item ふくせんステーション, is it one of the rarest?
