By sheer co-incidence I'm in the process of making some of these myself! I bought nine Wren hopper bodies a few months ago, one of them will be getting a Take & Play Hector face....
No, laG, it's not Trackmaster hopper, and it sure isn't Plarail chassis: nothing is written at the bottom, and that's most certainly some "unbranded" wagon. I have it for so many years I forgot how I got it or where I bought it. I'm sorry...

One of these days I am going to do a de-faced custom of Fearless Freddie. I have him added to the long list of Mod's so I will never run out of train things to do.
Because I am a heartless boob
I save the faces I remove for customs and sell them in small Lots on Ebay and pick up an extra few bucks. I am surprised at how popular just a Listing of faces are.
Freddie is a really nice loco, and his basis - Russell (a Hunslet 2-6-2T) - also looks great:
In the "defaceization" process, is your intention making those locomotives look as their real life counterparts, Super? If so, in Freddies case, it would be nice to add Russell's distinctive air pumps (or whatever that cylinder-shape object on his front is), that looks really cool!

Not necessarily...when I customize its usually just a train in my mind which would make the custom one of a kind design. Thats not saying that your idea of the cylinders might not make its way into the design though.
Thanks for this picture, I haven't seen a real one until now. That red looks good. |
