Well, I did it: it's my first video with a TrackMaster engine... I like Scruff so much, and Tomy didn't make him.  Confused
Of course, it's the older (smaller) version of Scruff with normal wheels (no spikes); he can run fine on blue track. Also, the face of the older version of Scruff is, in my opinion, much better. What do you think?

A fun video to watch Mr No.

Question:
Did Scruff come with the long coupler or is that something you changed?
No, Super, all 2010 Scruffs (don't know about the later version) are apparently equipped with that extra long coupler. I think Ucwepn also mentioned it in his video on Scruff. Nobody, however, seems to know why exactly is that so, why Scruff need such a long coupler. Some have changed it for a normal one, but I left it as it is, doesn't bother me...

That does seem strange why they would do that...there has to be a reason.....right?

I couldn't find an unboxing and review video of him new anywhere to maybe understand. Could it be something from the show where he likes being further away from the trash he hauls?

I did find a few boxed pictures on the Fandom Wiki site https://thomasmotorized.fandom.com/wiki/Scruff . which brings up a question for those that know...

It looks like he came in 2 different packaging: One with a Troublesome Truck which you can see the long coupling and one with only Scruff...does the one that comes with Scruff only also have the long coupler?...anybody...anybody?

Well, mine came in this packaging (with two trucks; only one truck loaded with garbage, the other is empty). It's the 2010 edition:

He changed the original (long) coupling.

Trackmaster Revolution Scruff (which is a litter bigger, has spiky wheels and a bit different face; all-in-all an inferior model to the 2010 edition, in my opinion) has a significantly shorter coupling:

Thanks Mr No....really strange. I am still curious if the Scruff only release has the same coupler or the normal sized one. If there was a picture of the back of the clear box would answer that.

Here are the narrow gauge engines from the Rev. Awdry's Railway Series, Book No. 10 "Four Little Engines" (one of my favorites in the whole series). One of the loops on my layout is in this video the narrow gauge railway, and Edward & Gordon are travelling the "normal" gauge on the other loop (with Percy on the Dokidoki line). Just as in the book, the story begins at Crovan's Gate Station with Skarloey telling Edward about his Little Railway. As we discussed  recently, all the engines in the book are in the official Skarloey Railway (SR) livery - red. But even in the television series, Sir Handel and Peter Sam are blue and green, respectively.

I love these little ones so much, hope you like them too!  Heart

Thanks, Chris! So it seems now we can conclude that the 2010 (shorter and nicer) Scruff comes with extra long coupling, and later Revolution Scruff (with spiky wheels) with normal one... Smile

@Mr No...your videos always get me rocking in my chair...is the music you use royalty free?

@Chrisjo..thank you for the picture that confirms Scruff's long rear coupling. It baffles me but at least if I need a long one for a custom I know where I can easily get one  Big Grin
