Yes, the AA does make good contact and obviously does nothing when mounted backwards. Ucwepn actually used a 2x AAA pack in the tender, which sounds like a better option to me. I know he's based on the fastest steam locomotive class ever built, but I still want to use his chassis for some provisional engines in addition to him.

It's an original TOMY with the Season 7 colour; I stopped collecting before TM2 was a thing, so I've only had the more quality stuff that preceded it.

V2 of the custom Henry already looks much more promising (and was more fun to build). He now uses skewers in addition to cardboard and was made with the chassis in mind instead of following Gordon. Furthermore, the tender has also been built and his wheel stickers have been prepared. All that's left of the first version (discarded) is the front of the running board, hence why it's cardboard and already painted. After this photo, the tender was finished and the handrails were added. He's still a bit too wide and not perfectly straight, but it's better than nothing. Now he'll just have to be primed, painted and detailed and he'll be complete. Best of all, he can be turned back into Spencer in just about five steps if needed (or vice versa), making him totally reversible. If the end result will be good enough, I could try Duck and Oliver and use the same green for them.

Well Today I made a new layout on one of my big tables. I managed to include Knapford Station and the Rail Yard. I am also a fanatic for congestion and fitting as much as you can in a small place so I put in as many sidings and Rolling Stock as I could. I'm also obsessed with symmetry so I tried to make the layout as symmetrical as possible.


As a kid I saw this video on Youtube on how to put a front coupling on engines, so as a kid I tried to do that with my Percy but I didn't have any files or sandpaper so I didn't get very far. Now I finally decided to complete the mod, and with the help of a file and sandpaper it made it much easier to do it and I think it turned out great!

I also did another mod to Percy, by putting tin foil on the motor battery terminal, and putting the battery in backwards it will make Percy run backwards, which is what I wanted to do when I originally thought of modifying Percy.


And a much awaited repair was the repair of my Tomy Gordon and Henry. With Gordon, it was a relatively simple fix as one of his wires broke, so all I had to do was replace it and now he works. Henry on the other hand was even more exciting. Henry hasn't been working for around 4-5 years and has just been sitting on my shelf collecting dust. With the help of new wires, a bit of soldering (including soldering the motor to the switch) and he works just like new!

Thanks for the memories! I knew exactly what video you meant since I watched it around the same time. Great to see it's still up on the original channel (TooMuchThomas). They were one of my favourite T&F channels due to the large, splendid public layouts they built, with genius features like an incline powered by a Gordon at the end and a powered turntable made from a record player. All their authentic props and details made it clear they watched many episodes of the actual show very carefully, so anyone who's binged it has something to recognize there. They even made a fan episode called "Shrink Fatty" which is too funny to miss.

Anyway, you did a perfect job by leaving a seamless cut without any damage. It would've been much better if they were made with front couplings like the ugly Push Along ones have. Maybe an easier way to do it in our time would be to use Adventures/Collectible Railway couplings (they're compatible and much smaller/don't need modifications to install). P.S., I spotted your Daisy in the background; If you haven't shown her before, please do so when you have the time.

if you use the risers, you can add more tracks to your layout

tested the snow plow that comes with Nia onto another Tomy Thomas.  it works marvelous

I found out I have a Hit and a Trackmaster Duke.  Either there is a discolouration or it is a coincident that both have different shade of brown.

Hahaha yes, that was indeed the video. And I too was fascinated by the narrow gauge incline. I. always use to think how they made it. I also seem to remember another video of like 20 Thomas' of all merchandise ranges (Wooden Railway, Take Along, Plarail and Tomy) running all at the same time that always use to watch when I was a kid, but i tried to find the video last night and I couldn't find it. That Daisy on my layout I made years ago out of Gordon's Express Coach by sticking paper onto the sides of it. It's definitely not the best custom, and I didn't want to make it permanent, hence me using paper and using sticky tape to put it on. The paper has also started to curl on the sides due to the long time the paper has been on it. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow for you to see. 

And Leyland, the problem is that I only have the double girders, and i have very few of them. II don't have any slope pieces or any single girders to make a raised layout. If I did they'd definitely make an appearance on the layout. Soon, I might by a few so I can add them

That was by TomTomica, and it's called My Little Thomas the Tank Engine World (the word "little" being used ironically). It was reuploaded by TheStarSwitcher ten years later and wound up on Dailymotion as well. He also had videos that demonstrated various forms of characters like James and Salty back then (not those "tribute" slideshows with characters' themes over images of them), but this had more action going on. Another classic nearly forgotten channel that left little to no evidence behind.
