With the exception of Thomas, I've always preferred these to the previous type with the permanent rolling stock and strange controllers. They came out when I was still collecting, so they gave me ideas for special layouts that would utilize their ability. Too bad they were made near the end of the original run, and the Devolution ones are a step back since they can't reverse. That said, Mr. Motorman is better than any factory RC engine.

Fun fact: Due to the second battery, the Thomas and Percy were reused for (non RC) light up versions with illuminated cabs and headlamps in the Sodor Blackout range, even though the single battery can also power lights (as we've all come to know).

That is awesome!!!!

Life tends to get hectic. And currently, my life is no exception.

So much to talk about here.
First, Jeremy! Love how you developed that clear blue track around cranky.
Very nice!

Second, lots of details! too many to compliment.

And then! and then?  the beatles??? are you kidding me?
too awesome. too impressive!

quick question though? what are you using? as the foundation underneath it all?

I'm talking about that lime green. Underneath all the track?

Thanks Trevor,
The first layer of the lime green base mat are simple large sheets from the dollar store.
I don’t recommend them though.
They are prone to warping with the slightest moisture or change in temperature, and are just not made from quality paper stock...definitely good for quick throw away projects, but never again for a long term layout.
The second layer is cut out foam sheets from Michaels, to add color and depth, but also to hide as many of the seams between the sheets of the first layer.
Play nice & have fun!!Smile
