They did it to remove BoCo's moulded detail to make it like Daisy's actual roof by smoothing it. This is probably the closest I've seen to what an official one would've looked like (if she were made during the same time as BoCo. The FlyingFordFalcon one looks like a later release from the HiT Toys or Fisher Price [pre-2014] era).

I've noticed that they even added the Spiteful Brake Van's face to the brake van that came with Stepney. I'd say they really like Season 2.
