nice. those beach minis are nice. i really need to do a trip to the uk. you guys have all the good stuff, lol. the worst part with those packs is the duplicates, but that shouldnt impact on you too much hopefully.

Funny, I always say you guys in the USA/Austrlia/NZ/Japan (delete as appropriate) have all the cool stuff and I need to visit sometime lol I guess it is a worldwide thing for collectors, always something somewhere else you can't get it easily on your home soil.

I know what you mean about duplicates, but having pretty much stopped originally collecting these around 2017 wave 1 (when they went 'light') I don't really have so much of a problem in that respect as long as I avoid the 'classic' models. Personally I like the metallic and transparent ones as I think they just look cool. Although having said that there are some nice colourful ones coming along recently Smile

thats true... the grass is always greener! i do know recently NZ got some region specific lego sets that the US didnt get, but at the same time they got some that no one else will get as well.

yes, you are lucky in that respect being able to avoid the "dupes". the metallics and clears are a great sub theme. the metallics made me glad i bought so many of the playwheels and kept the plastic inserts the gold thomas was seated in. all my limited editions go in one so i dont have to handle them too much.

That is a really cool idea using those inserts to house your 'special' mini's. I'm hoping they do some more of the 'flock' ones as well, the 'flock' Thomas is one of my favourites. I'll have to see if I can find a spare as I only have the one currently and as it is unique so far I wouldn't want to lose or damage it Smile

Out of interest do you know how many metallics and transparents there have been so far?

As always if there are any specials you're after let me know, if I see them I'll grab them.

there might be that wave at one of my stores. i will have a look what his number is and check during the week.

there have been 6 metallics [including a gold and a silver thomas] one clear, the flocked and a world map thomas. i dont have pizza thomas yet, but he will go in one of the inserts as well.

of course there have been other clear characters, like mr invisible from the DC range, and the fantasy D10 was flocked as well, but not to the same degree as thomas.

Ah, so as I recall I have the metallics from the original waves - James/Gordon (or was it Edward or both?!?), the Gold Thomas as well as the 'Platinum' (I think its more Silver) one that came along later - but I don't class that as truly Metallic as it was just silver/platinum painted not like the others. Was there a metallic Percy as well? God it seems so long ago that I collected the originals that I can't remember lol...

Not so sure about which clear ones I have, I think I'll have to dig out my various batches of new/old mini's and see what's what Smile
