I received my first batch of Jauce purchases.
Thanks to Super and Gerisplarail1 for helping me spend money! LOL
they helped me through the process.

198 Single Girders
30 Double Girders
01 D51 TimeStation Only
01 Red Giant Bridge.
I used EMS shipping (Post office) and it was quite expensive but very quick. 4 days.
The package size was 30x18x16

Well... here is my 2nd Jauce order on hold to ship.
EMS shipping will cost 350$ USD! cost more than the purchase price Angry
trying to see if i can get them to ship these at a much lower cost.
This might be my last purchase or for a while....

There is a lot of weight there especially with those 2 sets with the big blue train shaped stations. In addition this will be a very large box which I believe reflects in the price also. I don't use Jauce but don't they offer you the choice of shipping methods? And don't they also offer different Insurance rates either covering just the cost of the items or the items plus all the shipping?

So far the cheapest shipping method is

206$ + 75 $ for handling 1-3 months delivery

The higher cost only took 4 days

Why do they charge $75 for handling?
I would say for the amount of packing material required, time required to pack, trip to the post office etc still seems a bit excessive.
It's not really the size of the box. It is made to be taken and held with more care making it have to get to it's destination in a "special" way or first class if you will. Due to this package being so large it would make that price sky high!

I could get it shipped cheaper if they would allow me to use my work's fedex account, but they wont. I will just have to bite the bullet and maybe this will be my last purchase from Jauce. I will try the other site you recommended Super

Oh and I did buy two blue monorail time stations. One will become wall art for Evan's bedroom Smile

First there should be no extra charge for packing materials at least very minimal. The items you already paid for has their own packing material when it arrives to Jauce. They should have tons of recycled boxes, bubble wrap, newspaper, etc. If they are using all new materials then that is a waste. Maybe at the most they might have to purchase a large box but how much does that cost. As far as handling that is all part of the commission. How long does it take to place items from one box into another. Also they must make a trip everyday to the Post Office or airport with dozens of boxes destined for all over the world which is a minimal cost and should be included with the commission. Give Japamart a try and see what you think.
