I don't think I have ever seen one of these trains with this type of damage before...

Its weird because the engines shell doesn't look damaged.

The whole front of that chassis looks pretty beaten up. My guess is that it was stepped on or crushed under something while the body was removed.

Or some hyperactive kid broke it for whatever reason they do that stuff. Been there, done that, got the spare parts box!

If I bought that engine, I would give it a new chassis
